    Winner of Best Feature Film in Bengali of National Awards, this 1969 Bengali drama directed by Bijoy Bose, stars Bikash Roy, Ruma Guha Thakurta and Subhendu Chatterjee.

The movie tells the story of Pradyut Sen (Jahar Ganguly), who is an allopathic doctor and sets up his clinic at Nabagram. But there is already an ayurvedic doctor, Jibon Moshai (Chhaya Devi) who practices in the village. The movie revolves around the clash between two doctors with their thoughts and moral values.

Inspired by true events, this movie is based on the life of Manjunath Shanmugam. He was an IIM pass out working for a petroleum company. His company was involved in. The film revolves around the journey of Manjunath who tried to expose the corruption in his company.


Starring Sasho Satiiysh Saarathy as Manjunath, Seema Biswas as Manjunath’s mother and Divya Dutta as Anjali Mulatti, this movie is something that you should not miss.

  1. Samadhan

Directed by Jayanto Basu, this 1979 Bengali film stars Uttam Kumar, Sumitra Mukherjee, Depankar Dey.

The story revolves around Roopchand Sen who is a writer by profession. One day, all of a sudden he realizes that he cannot write in Bengali anymore. He visits Abanti, who is a psychiatrist and narrates about his life, his dreams and his unfulfilled wishes. His problem will be solved. Do watch this movie to find the answer.
