I am back with my night time skin care routine.I can easily confess that skin care is something I do not take lightly! Before I jump into my night time skin care regimen.
Let me share a few facts that might help you understand why it’s so important to take care of your skin at night.Research shows that the time between 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. is when collagen is boosted and harmful free radicals are destroyed, and that is why it is so crucial to get a good night’s rest during these hours. Trust me, this was not an easy habit for me to adopt, as I’m naturally a night owl, but I make a big effort to be in bed by 11 p.m. on a daily basis for this reason. Also, your skin temperature is naturally higher at night, which means that your skin is more receptive to active ingredients.
Oily skin night time skin care routine
Step1: Remove your makeup-Start by removing your makeup. Apply a few drops of a gentle, non-drying makeup remover to a cotton pad and swipe it across the areas of your skin with makeup.Always choose a gentle or non-drying makeup remover, or else you can choose olive oil to remove your makeup.Take some olive oil massage on your face and wipe it off with a cotton pad or just a cotton.It will remove the products like waterproof mascara and skin tints with SPF.I personally prefer L’oreal makeup remover or Revlon makeup remover
Step 2: Cleanser + Exfoliator-Wash your face after removing your makeup with lukewarm water by using a good ph balanced face wash.Pat your skin with a towel or let it air dry for a few minutes.Then exfoliate your skin at-least 3-4 times a week to remove the dead cells of your skin.This easy step only takes a few seconds and a few swipes to help dissolve away surface oil, dead skin cells, and any residual dirt or makeup from your day.
Step 3: Toner-A toner is essential for balancing skin pH and prepping skin for all of the ingredients and formulas that follow. After patting skin dry with a towel, apply a quarter-sized amount of product by pressing it onto your face, not swabbing it on with a cotton pad.
Step 4: Night repair cream-Even oily skin needs an extra step to maintain any skin concerns. Just make sure that it’s not too thick or emollient and that it has all the right ingredients. Always use a product that gives extra moisture and overall skin repair!
Step 7: Moisturizer-Moisturizer is the most, whether you are an oily skin type or dry.But for oily skin type choose a moisturizer which is not much greasy and oily to your skin otherwise you will feel heavy on your face.The more you keep your skin hydrated and moisturized, the younger and more vibrant you look.
Step 8: Eye Cream- Most people with oily skin tend to neglect the eye area, afraid that it’ll become as oily as the rest of their face. However, that shouldn’t be the case. Hydrating your eyes with an eye cream is critical in avoiding premature fine lines and wrinkles!
And that’s it for my daily bedtime beauty routine. Although these steps may seem excessive, after repeating it for a few weeks, you’ll see a major difference in your skin’s texture and overall look.Have sweet dreams of less oil and shine . after some dedication to this skin care routine you may wake with skin that is less oily and better balanced.
