These are the most common elements which cause the skin around our eyes to strain. Finally, resulting in dark circles, red eyes and even pigmentation.

Before going to bed, taking care of skin is so important which includes eye care also. I always get dark circles. And tried a lot of things to get rid of it. But finally found something useful to get rid of it. Today I will be sharing some home remedies to get rid of Dark Circles.

Lets us first discuss the reasons behind the dark circles or hyper-pigmentation under the eye area.
- The first and foremost reason is eye straining.
- Dehydration can also be a reason of dark circles. When our body is not receiving enough water, the skin starts looking dull and pigmented. it’s important to drink at least 2-3 litres of water daily.
- Overexposure to the sun can produce more melanin. It can also lead to dark circles and discoloration of the skin.
- Ageing also plays a vital role in dark circles. As we grow older, the skin beneath the eyes gets thin. As a result, the blood vessels are easily visible.
- For some people like me, genetics is the reason for dark circles. Like diabetics, dark circles also transfer from generation to generation. as a result, it can be there since childhood and grow as you grow up.
These are some common reasons for dark circles. if you have dark circles, it’s better to find remedies rather than looking like a demon. So Let’s start practising some home remedies to take care of dark circles.
Home remedies to get rid of Dark Circles:
Sleep for at least 7-8 hours:
The best remedy for getting rid of dark circles is getting enough sleep. Beauty sleep is essential to have a beautiful skin. Sleep deprivation can lead to dark circles. Always try to sleep for at least 7-8 hours. During sleep, the cell regenerates eight times faster. It helps to regenerate, repair and renewal of the skin.
Green Tea Bags For Dark Circles:
Green tea bags contain the goodness of caffeine and tannin. Tannin is a type of astringent which helps in reducing swelling and puffiness around the eye. Earlier I used to throw the tea bags after use. But after learning that this tea bags can even be used to remove dark circles. I started keeping them in the refrigerator. It’s the best home remedy to get rid of dark circles. Rather than using an expensive product which is chemical based.

Before using the green tea bags for under eyes. Dip the green tea bag for making your tea and don’t throw the tea. It’s better if you drink the green tea which helps in weight loss. As a result, you can take care of your health and also your under eye dark circles. Don’t squeeze the water from it but keep it on a plate or bowl to refrigerate. So that it will cool down and ready for use.
So its time for the spa treatment of eys. Keep it for at least 20 minutes before sleeping and after that apply any gel-based moisturiser. Repeat the treatment daily till you get the significant result. Trust me guys, it does work and gives an amazing result within a week.
Aloe Vera gel for Dark circles:
Aloe Vera is a wonderful plant, its thick leaves provide a lot of benefit to the skin. It can be used in skin lotion, cosmetics, or ointments for minor burns and even in sunburns. The aloe Vera gel can also be used as an under-eye cream for removal of dark circles. This is a magic plant which should be found in every single house. It can look good also indoors. Aloe Vera increases the elasticity of the skin and decreases puffiness around the skin.

- 1 tbsp of potato juice
Take the pure aloe Vera gel either from any brand or take the pulp of aloe Vera, mix it with potato juice. Don’t worry about the potato juice. It’s really simple and easy just by straining the crushed potato, you can get the juice. If you want to add Vitamin E, it’s optional. Vitamin E helps to eliminate the dark pigmentation under the eyes. Apply it on the dark circles and do massage it for some time. Keep it for the whole night and next morning wash your face. After using it for one week you can see the glow under your eyes. This is one of favourite eye mask which really gives an amazing result.
Almond oil for dark circles:
Almond oil contains the goodness of Vitamin E, Vitamin K, and retinol. Retinol helps in increasing the cells, stimulates collagen and elastin production. It clarifies and evens skin tone. Also, almond oil helps in to lighten the dark circles and reduce puffiness around the eyes.
- 1 tbsp of almond oil
- 1 tsp of honey
Take all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them properly. Before going to bed, dip ring fingers of your two hands and take the required amount. And do massage it into the dark circles beneath your eyes. In addition, honey helps in maintaining the moisture and acts an anti-inflammatory to the skin.
Rosewater For Dark Circles:
Rosewater contains lots of goodness which helps in reducing dark circles, puffy eyes. As rose water contains a great amount of vitamin C and A. As a result, it aids in reducing dark circles. It helps to keep the skin fresh and refreshing. It also acts as a toner and even as a setting spray after makeup. Hence, helps in maintaining the pH balance of the skin. Rosewater is a blessing for skin which has a lot of goodness in it.
- 2-3 drops of lemon juice
- 2-3 drops of glycerin
At first, take all the ingredients in a bowl. After that, mix them well and apply the paste all around your eyes. Wait for at least 10-15 minutes. Finally, rinse the face with clean water. If you want to get the best result, do it before going to bed for at least 4 to 5 days. This will help the skin cells in regenerating the tissues and rejuvenate your skin. As it contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it helps to protect your eyes from getting contamination, itching, redness, inflammation.
